Blogging . The first month! Help!

It is finally time to go to bed, and guess what the time is? 3:40 AM. My day started at 6 AM this last morning. I’m bone- tired and blogging is the last thing I want to do (apart from putting up Z’s laundry which is still tumbling in the dryer!). But I cannot slack today. Definitely not today.  Today marks the one month anniversary of this humble blog.

This began as a consequence of solitariness and the need to connect with friends. Friends who I could no longer meet every weekend, or call when the impulse arose. Friends who are peppered across the globe, all insanely busy and in keen pursuit of their dreams.

I also hoped to share some trivial but helpful information and experiences along the way;  to aid in overcoming the inevitable hassles that accompany moving to a new country.

I started posting on the 25th of last month, hoping to connect with a measly four or five close friends and family. Like a phone call in a web page. But fate surprised me with over a hundred views that day! Yesterday the number was well over four thousand. I’m blown away yet humbled by the response. It is way beyond anything I hoped for.

Now that the foundation’s been laid, I am in a bit of a pickle. What to write everyday? What do my friends want to read? How to keep things interesting? My life is pretty boring, so writing about it is not an option… Can I come up with something new everyday? Have I bitten off more than I can chew?

So dear folks, please help me out here. I’m in dire need of your feedback and suggestions. Should I choose to continue, what would you folks like to read? What topics interest you? Which were your favourite posts so far? Do you want to see more of my new “home city”? Tell me, tell me…

And the good people living in Qatar, what do you want to know? Reviews? Info?

I may not be able to keep up with blogging every single day, especially when I get back to work. Let us see….

Anyhoo, please do comment below and let me know what you think. Entering your email id is optional, please leave your name if possible though (not mandatory). Let us make this fun. Let us make it a two way street. Let us make it a phone call in a webpage. Just holler and I shall reply!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I shall take leave with a favourite quote of mine by George Harrison (The Beatles):

“It’s being here now that’s important. There’s no past and there’s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one.”

AAh, wait! This one’s better-

“Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the ‘Titanic’ who waved off the dessert cart.”
― Erma Bomeck.

Live in the moment and carpe- diem my friends!

Till next time….

Dr J.
